  • Imagine a shortage of insects and protein being hard to acquire from our own familiar house birds .Every bird feeder in every country empty as well. Then all English House sparrows and European Starlings throughout the world simultaneously adopt this method to survive.Who do you think will be their hosts? Moral of the story, don't use toxic pesticides.

  • Oxpeckers plucking insects off the backs of Rhinos is one thing but these are the real parasitic song birds wow!.

  • whatah blood sucking kind of birds... amazing.

  • Luckily for the Boobies, these finches only turn to vampireism in lean seasons when their natural food is hard to come by.

  • We actually witnessed this behavior in person while touring the GI. Amazing stuff.

  • Horrible, horrible animals.

  • hehe.. boobie blood...

  • dude! I wouldn't want to run into one of them on a dark night... particularly if I was one of those boobies!

    Ultra cool birds :-)

  • Gotta love adaptive radiations! Finches would never do this were it not for the Galapagos being oceanic islands!

  • @waddleduckie1 Hell, you should check out the Boobies theirselves. Evil, from the day they're born.
