BF2142 Hesitation Lag Bug

For the last three weeks at least, an extremely annoying bug (known as hesitation lag/bug) appeared in BF2142. Every three seconds or so the game pauses for half a second. The bug appears on a per server basis after playing for 10-45 minutes, makes the game unplayable and will not go away unless you restart BF2142.

Well it's unplayable for many people already. But I don't give a shit for BC2 yet. My computer cannot handle it and I rarely buy games when they come out because the are very expensive. Still I bought BF2142 for 30euros and I cannot play it after only 6 months. EA is GTPK...

Shutting down punkbuster while the bug is affecting you will solve the problem but you will be kicked in about 30 seconds for not running punkbuster. Take a look at EA's forums. The thread is called "master server lag".

there are hundreds of people playing right now how is that possible? the game is unplayable because of this, i thought all players were affected. if not what do i do to get rid of this

lag is because of the new game coming out Bad Company 2 I think, hopefully things get better after the game is released (March 2nd I think.) There is quite a few posts about this on EA forums
