I remember this well. I lived by the railway line in Chesham and enjoyed hearing and seeing the train go by. I actually rode on the train with my wife and neighbors (Jim and Bertha Denham). This was in 1989. I know this because I am currently having coffee out of my "The First 100 years Chesham Railway" mug. I will have to try and dig up some pictures that I took... Good memories!!!

@DenhamHouse This coming weekend there is a railway event at the northern end of the Metropolitan Line and I'm told that Sarah Siddons (the electric locomotive seen here) will be operating some passenger trains.

Good vid! Coupla questions:
Was Sarah Siddons "dead in tow?"
and
How did they get the BR stock to run without electricity?

Thanks ;-)
Both locos were alive / providing tractive effort.
Virtually all electric and diesel trains can be moved without power / by locomotives.
This is how they are delivered when new from the factory!
However, life becomes more complicated if the braking systems are not compatible.
The Met Railway originally used steam locomotives - at one time it was just one of the many railways in Britain, it just happened to be partially underground - and it used similar trains.
