Greed, want, and over consumption are not the source of the problem, though they may be an effect of it. The only reason that these countries were impoverished in the first place is due to government intrusion allowing for exploitation. the history of the America empire's imperialism is a easy example of this. "Over consumption" would be much harder in a free-market.
Without first evening out the world's economy I don't agree with you. There is an almost endless supply of manufacturing laborers in this world. Free market would still mean competition... whoever is willing to work for the least is gonna get our business. Because we don't care where it came from just that it's cheap.
