i think its him takin out his spirit that waz causing him to act how he waz in the bar!!
cuz if u notice that he solbers up az soon az he gets the spirit out of him..
i think it symbolizes..that hes removing the bad characteristics out of his life and moving on...and trying to change!!

Its very biblical that short film, thats what I would say. Many people think his killing his soul, but he claims to have sold it to Satan. So if his sold his soul, the only way to do wrong without a conscience...would have to be removing your holy spirit, this removes all good. In the Bible theres something about not being able to kill your holy spirit, so he hands it a dagger to kill itself. Basically telling all the good in his body to leave. That seems more solid.

the "angel" is representative of his desire for intimacy and love. throwing up rose petals is the removal of his false perception. the demon removed from his chest is the exorcism of his demon he created by denying his humanity, likely what caused his dissociative episode. -my interpretation, what i believe he intended

You forgot to mention how he keeps telling everyone about his song, almost as if he would be really dissapointed if they didnt notice or care. Almost like he had to scrifice something to get it.
