I highly recommend getting the same Gimp version I use in the video. I have Gimp 2.0, simply because other gimp versions have the menus elsewhere., and might get lost somewhere along the tutorial.

EDIT:
On the dialog box:
Filters...alpha to logo...alien glow
Where it said 150 and the color you want to choose for the glow, the number indicates how BIG the glow will be (the radius) I didnt know when I made the video, but after messing with it I found it out.

It took some time, but I hope this tutorial will help you!
If you have any tutorial requests, feel free to pm me with anything you need help on and I will try and accomplish that.
I will also be taking Photoshop requests.

Please rate, comment and all that good stuff!
;)

you can download the Gimp program at:
http://www.gimp.org/downloads/

~~~EDIT:~~~
I no longer own the Gimp program, however I will still do my best to help you out if you have any problems..
  • @xxxMittensxcatxxx
    On the video, in the dialog box where it said 150 and the color of the glow you want, the number indicates how BIG you want the glow to be. from 120, you can change it to a bigger number, and the glow will be bigger.
  • nvm, erm how do i save it with a transparent background?
  • @ZWiNKii4DDiCTi0N
    Save it as a .png file.
