Music video for Gus Van Sant's My Own Private Idaho, using singer/songwriter Kathleen York's "Have no fear." She's a beautiful woman with the voice of an angel, in my humble opinion.

Oh, well, I'm just deeply in love with this film. It had a great impact on me, and I think the song fits well. A song about hope, or at least that's how I interpret it. I guess there was still hope left for Phoenix's character, Mike Waters, at the end of the film.

It's really hard for me to watch River Phoenix's movies.It really puts a sad/sick feeling in my stomach and afterwords I have to watch a happy comedy to make me feel a little bit better.

@corfan99 have you watched the rest of River's movies? He was truly amazing...I first saw him in Stand By Me which came out when I was 13. I have loved him ever since. I'm 37 now and I still love him...not only an amzing actor, but a truly wonderful sensitive and compassionate human being. I encourage you to watch all of his movies-he was an absolute genius. Every piece of footage of him is a work of art.

Whenever i watch This movie i cry soo much its not because i know river has passed away its just because of his amazing acting its soo emotional and some of the scenes you feel he is hurting and angry and confused some of the scenes were just overly realistic and thats why its soo good I loved him in every scene...

A late comer. I just 'discovered' this amazing young actor...I know its been something like 16 years since his passing and almost 20 since his [what I've seen from clips on YouTube] amazing performance in MY OWN PRIVATE IDAHO. This was the next video I saw after seeing his incredible, heart felt "campfire scene" performance. Now, each time I hear this very moving song "Have no fear", I'll always remember River Phoenix and the amazing talent that was lost 16 years ago.
