ABOUT THIS VIDEO:

On Friday, March 4 2011, following the final day of the Game Developers Conference, the creators of the then soon-to-be-released iOS sensation Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP joined AREA 5, Atomix editors, and mutual friends in the middle of San Francisco's Golden Gate park for a conversation on a log. Cameras were on-hand, and the highlights of the encounter were documented in four video segments.

#SWORCERY 01: how it began

Superbrothers' founder Craig D. Adams joins Nathan Vella and Kris Piotrowski from Capy to discuss the origin of the Sword & Sworcery project. Who knew it began as a cover of an old Zynga game?

  • @OmnipotentO We started doing more contract work to help keep our business afloat. We helped Crytek with a series called C2TV, did a few videos for Hudson, a commercial for Super Meat Boy. This is our first trip back into videogame editorial since then. I hope you enjoy. And visit area5.tv to keep up with us.

  • eggnog4073 Perfect timing! I hope you enjoy the issue(s).

  • errolian I totally understand that and appreciate it. I miss making that show too... it was one of the best parts of my life.

...this is ryan by the way. Thanks again!

  • Impulse622 Thanks for your consistent support. We really appreciate it and we do it for fans like you.

  • pandaBear7109 Yup, we're still hangin' in there. Though, right now, it's easier to appreciate our work if you have an iPad. And, obviously, there are just a ton of people who don't. Oh well... we knew that going into this experiment.

  • Xmen1312: Good question. I don't have a real answer. We do want to get some of the CO-OP-style narratives into Atomix at some point. But, we'd love to do standalone CO-OPs as well. Who knows what the future will hold.

So, yeah, a sort of non-answer. Sorry!

  • I really miss you CO-OP guys :( I hope things work out :) Ive watched every episode of it and miss it a lot. I wish I had an ipad to subscribe to your magazine lol.

  • People should pay to watch other parts of your infomercial... Really?

Looks good, but... too much to be interested in that I can learn about for free.

    Good luck to you!

  • I found this trying to watch old episodes of CO-OP and this came out today which flipped me out even more because i am subscribed and didn't even see it in my feed. ANYWHO! Do you guys do CO-OP-like videos such as this one in the Atomix app? I don't have an iPad anymore so I'm out of the loop :(

  • Great video. Sword & Sworcery has an abstract mysticism that powers play and I think you all did a great job re-creating that for the feeling of this interview.

Wish I could watch the other vids but alas, no iPad.

  • I wish for CO-OP Back.. My life has felt empty ever since..

  • cool

  • awesome your back

  • Is there anyway us Andriod users can support Atomix as well?

  • The more I see of Atomix the more I wish I had an Ipad, or that there was an iPod version!

P.S Im glad you seem to have a new music bed for your videos, I was starting to get tired of your old CO-OP ones ;)

    All the best!

  • Awesome interview. I would totally buy Atomix if it wasn't just on the iPad.
