To the person whom thinks I could of kept my money in savings and would not be in this mess. Perhaps if you would have been able to keep the monies you earned and that which your employer paid on your behalf you wouldn't need to worry about what other people are doing with your money because it would be under your control. But that's the problem with thinking the Govt ought to be our benefactor.

@vechorik THAT'S FALSE INFORMATION!! SOCIAL SECURITY IS SOLVENT UP TO 2037 AS IT IS.. This is a lot of b.s. Chicken Little Sky is falling without . The President has said numerous times that it is not on the table.. President Obama isn't taking a dam thing away. It's the Republican Congress who is threatening to do so. Please contact your Congresspersons people.. Geesh!.. Besides Big Pharma overcharges the Government by $Billions the Repubs don't want to fix! THAT'S WHERE THE FIX SHOULD BE!

New congressional estimates say the trust fund that supports Social Security disability will run out of money by 2017, leaving the program unable to pay full benefits, unless Congress acts. About two decades later, Social Security’s much larger retirement fund is projected to run dry as well. It's time to REFORM ALL GOVERNMENT ASSISTANT PROGRAMS NOW -- ELSE WE LOSE THEM! How about the first step to get millionaires off SS and Medicare?
