Song Fly Over States off of his brand new album My Kinda Party!
If I interpretted this song right, it would be the same type of song as Amarillo Sky. I do not own the song or picture. All copy rights go to the artist and producers.

A couple a' guys in first class on a flight
From New York to Las Angeles
Kinda makin' small talk killin' time
Flirtin' with the flight attendants.
Thirty thousand feet above, could be Oklahoma.

Just a bunch of square corn feilds and wheat farms
Man, it all looks the same.
Miles and miles of back roads and highways
Connecting little towns with funny names.
Who'd wanna live down there, in the middle of nowhere.

Chorus
They've never drove through Indiana
Met the man who plowed that earth
Planted that seed, busted his ass for you and me
Or caught a harvest moon in Kansas
They'd understand why God made
Those fly over states.

I bet that mile long Santa Fe
Frieght train engineer's seen it all
Just like that flatbed cowboy
Stacking US steel on a three day haul
Roads and rails under thier feet
Yeah, that sounds like a first class seat.

Chorus
On the plains of Oklahoma
With a windshield sunset in your eyes
Like a watercolored painted sky
You'll think heaven's doors have opened
You'll understand why God made
Those fly over states.

Chorus
Take a ride across the badlands
Feel that freedom on your face
Breathe in all that open space
Meet a girl from Amarillo
You'll understand why God made
You might even wanna plant your stakes
In those fly over states.

Have you been though Indiana?
On the plains of Oklahoma
Take a ride

  • 11 people dont know what its like in the country

  • I live in PA. Hate it. It's too busy. When we go to the south/west for vacation it feels like home. You never have to worry. In the city you always have to worry about who you are with what you are wearing. The closest thing to country in PA for me is going to ride my horse everyday only to see wide open fields and the those damn housing developments way off....I wish I was born and raised in the true country states.

  • @daxcriplerxwendler i agree i live in KS too, i live in a small town with a funny name and i love it here, there is beauty in it everywhere you look. some people just dont understand until they come here.

  • 11 people are commie liberals from NYC

  • okie boy born and raised

  • I live in KS, i've been all over the US from Penso cola FL, to Seattle WA. I've live in TN, MO, KY, SC, OH. But, there's no place quite like KS and seeing all the wheat waving in the wind. Watching the storms roll in, Look at the stars and milky way at night. Theres so much beauty in the country that goes unnoticed in the city...
