Your wife will give birth after an incredibly brief pregnancy in RF2. In most Harvest Moon and Rune Factory games, it takes at least 2 seasons after pregnancy is announced, but not in RF2... I am aware of the game, but as the Japanese release still is pending, it will be quite a long time before any N. American release, I suspect.
