Anime: Fruits Basket
OST: Fruits Basket OST 1 (2001)
[audio]

Fruits Basket (フルーツバスケット, Furūtsu Basuketto), sometimes abbreviated Furuba (フルバ, Furuba?), is a Japanese manga series by Natsuki Takaya. It was serialized in the semi-monthly Japanese magazine Hana to Yume, published by Hakusensha, from 1999 to 2006. The series was also adapted into a 26-episode anime series, directed by Akitaro Daichi.

The word "Fruits" in the title is always plural; the spelling originates from the transcription of the English word "fruit" into Japanese, where because there is no "tu" sound, "tsu" is used instead. The title comes from the name of a popular game played in Japanese elementary schools, which is alluded to in the series.

The name spellings used in this article correspond to those given in the official Region 1 DVD and English manga releases. Romanization style names are given in Western order, with the family name last.

  • *sigh* this is certainly a beautiful song... i think its supposed to be a clashing of themes between yuki and kyo. you can hear yuki's theme in the... it sounds like a clarinet, and kyo's in the orchestra

so pretty.... *sighs happily* if only i could get my CD's back.... TT-TT

  • Dear gawd, I love this! It's just so touching and soothing. Puts a smile on my face everytime I come back to listen to it. Fruits Basket does the exact same thing. I love the hell out of it, because it's just one of those feel-good animes. Provided I can call it that. It makes me wanna be a better person. Tohru's character is just so loveable. She's sweet, kind, and looks out for others over herself. First time I ever said I wanna be like that girl.

  • The nostalgia is killing me.

  • Where can I buy the soundtrack? I have Memories For You, and Eternal Memories, but why didn't I hear of this soundtrack? I'd really appreciate a response.

  • i lov tis song cos i finally mastered it on my clarinet!!!!! <3

  • Listening to this song over and over reminds me of Kyo's childhood and I just want to cry :'(

  • Yuki: Hey, make sure to keep your act together. Don't mess up, you stupid cat.

Kyo: My life's none of your business, you stupid rat.

Furuba, last volume, last chapter :33

  • I LOVE this song all the music made for Fruits Basket is so beautiful! :)

  • I think Yuki's theme is being played by an oboe. Although, if my school band's oboe played this, it would just sound like a singing duck. (No offense to the duck and oboe players) But this music is so calming, how could they have made something so beyond beautiful?

  • Completely wonderful...

  • Kyyyyyyyyooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

    =^o^=
