the MVP is a political award, often more of a popularity contest. What matters most is who wins in the Finals. Sure, it's a nice award to get, and I think Kobe should have received it at least once before, and Chris Paul is important to his team, but Kobe's finally come into a season in which he took more of a leadership role, trusting his teammates, much as Jordan did with the Bulls.

i do watch lakers games ,im a laker fan. but kobe couldn't get it done without all-star help. CP3 has done this season what kobe has been unable to do for the past few seasons. and instead of bitch and complain and demand a trade, CP3 just went out and tore it up. Kobe should talk to CP3 and get advice from him. you're right, it's not all about stats. which is why CP3 should be hands down the mvp. he took a dump of a team and turned them into the 2nd best in the west.
