Day one of using the 'TrackIR' head tracking device (in FSX). This gadget amplifies slight head movements into significant movements of your onscreen persona. You can look left and right, and up and down, but also sit up higher in the seat, or peer into the cockpit. It's pretty cool, and feels more natural than looking with your thumb!

  • Another TrackIR user here! :-)

  • Nice one! It makes a big difference, especially in complicated cockpits where you can peer around better to see stuff! Cheers.

  • Awesome. I want one.

  • Thanks for the feedback...

Yes - it certainly does change the 'feeling' of flight sims (and other games). I bought mine second hand on eBay and do recommend the kit - it really adds to the 'immersion' factor when flying!

  • TrackIR is really cool :-))

It can be tough to adjust speed , altitude, heading on the heavies with the head gear on. That's why I use another add-on called "Multi Crew Experience" (for which there is a free 7 days fully working demo). It adds voice control to FSX or FS9. I get the slave (a.k.a co-pilot) to flip switches on my voice commands. Lots of fun besides the fact that is the way the heavies are operated.

  • Why are you zoomed in so far? :)

  • i might get this. the best thing about this is the fact that if you are turning or landing or something you can look around in the cockpit to hit a switch or look around without having to take a hand off of the controls.

  • it costs loads athoer wise i would get it

  • press F9 to deactivate the trackIR when needed. pressing F9 again will activate it again ;)

  • Me too ;)
