isnt it horrible to see that all this fighting and bloodshed is fought by 2 sides gathering underneath there flags and their religions. i think its brilliant that we have got peace in this country for the first time in decades.

@AmonCahan I'm sure they have been happy to 'give NI back' for the larger part of a century... There is the little problem of the majority of the population wanting to be part of the U.K.

i think northern irelands doomed either way its a sad thing but probably true. a united ireland or continued membership of the uk will both cause problems either now or in the future its a damned if we do damned if we dont situation, which is pretty scary and really sad becuase people are going to lose their lives over it. And another thing i always wondered if republicans are marxist/socialist then surelythey follow marx, who beleived that nationalism was an opiate of the people and regressive

That sounds so simple!
I thought that as a state in itself N ireland by demographics alone , in an election
would remain as part of Britain , yet if seen as an integral part of the island of Ireland would then be voted as one country.
Well it is still beyond me But I believe that the people have moved on and wish them best
