- Your bag should be in proportion to your body. A very small bag on a very curvy woman could make her look bigger. A big bag on a petite could overwhelm her body.
- Your bag should also be the opposite of your body type. If you're very curvy, then look for a bag with a lot of structure instead of something slouchy. If you're very straight up and down (like Judi in the video), then a bag with softer lines is best.
- Also be aware of where a bag "hits" you. A bag with a long, low handle may end up sitting right at the hip, which adds attention and volume to that area. If you have a large bust, then you do want a bag that hangs lower, away from the bust line.
- I really like the stitching on a bag to match the color of the bag - it just looks that much better. Cheaper bags usually have contrasting stitching (such as a black bag with tan stitching). If the bag is black, the stitching should be too.
- Since most women have a lot of black in their wardrobes, a black bag is a must. A bag for the summer like white, metallic or a fun color like yellow, orange or lime green is great.
