why did they dump powerpc? and at that when snow leapord comes out, can we still get leopard for powerpc?

Dude... the PowerPC has been dead for like nearly 10 years, the only thing that kept it from totally kicking the bucket was Apple's stupidity in allowing the PowerPC to still be supported. Furthermore this is one of the reasons why I don't switch because of Apple's inability and refusal to allow people to know ahead of time what is going on and what they are going to be releasing. Therefore you have to go on rumors and even they might not be true.

Nice information about SL. Why 64bit? They should have 64 and 32, just to be more flexible.

I'm no computer geek, but I think it's all about money for Apple. Instead of making major updates for Leopard, they want to come out with a brand new OS and charge 120 bucks for it! I don't know about everyone else, but I'm perfectly content with Leopard. It's 3 quantum leaps above Vista!

Thanks for letting me know. I wasn't sure how the capitalist system worked until you explained that. I'm just saying that it doesn't seem like a very good value for the average consumer who doesn't have some huge super-network. I'm just glad that it's still a leopard and not some other cat.

being faster more stable plus more battery life is worth it also like you said they have to appeal to all theyre customers
