Roy Wood covered the Beatles songs 'Lovely Rita' and 'Polythene Pam' for the 1976 documentary film 'All This And World War II'. The film was only shown for a week in October 1976 before it was quickly sent into storage. All the songs in the film are covers of Lennon/McCartney songs.

  • Roy is definitely a genius; thanks for posting! It would be interesting to hear Bryan Ferry's contribution to this album; I think it's "She's Leaving Home."

  • As soon as I heard one song of Roy Wood, I already knew there's something... Beatles-ish about him! x) Maybe he was influenced by them?

  • @davekm43 Yea there is a lot of junk filler on the white album paul mcartney doesnt like it when people say it should have been a one record set but hes not god you know [ johnny winter had a 3 sided album secound winter 2 records one side is blank thats not because they didnt have enough material its just because they wanted to cut the grooves deeper so it would be louder]

  • @Fordtaurus00 [was] is the key word here....betw 66-71 he created some pretty interesting music...his 70s stuff is just attempts at hitting a commercial market....quite shallow indeed.

  • seventiesnonsense. You just didn't like my mock reply as you are lacking humor. But that's OK what is moronic to some is witty to others. Great, I never have to hear from you again, hopefully.

  • @11xzxzxz

Yea I know all that dickhead, but on my 1st reply I was polite..then you sent a moronic reply..obviously ignoring what I'd told you..then I got what you call

" pompous "..now fuck off you're getting on my nerves you twat.

  • @seventiesclassic Sure you got pompous on your second reply and I told you that on my third reply and your third Reich. Get some humor and some taste. I like to be corrected just not by a silly pompous little man who can't be straight-forward and you had two chances. And you said "AND NOW PAY ATTENTION .. READ CAREFULLY .. NOT FROM THE WHITE ALBUM." A nicer guy would have written "your wrong it's from Sgt Peppers". DO YOU GET THIS .. DID YOU PAY ATTENTION CAREFULLY ??

  • @11xzxzxz

Look back to my 1st reply to you, it's not pompous, nor did I go for your throat.

If you don't like being corrected..tough!

  • @seventiesclassic Of cause what I wrote is partly nonsense alliteration that you can't appreciate as a joke. I only went at you cause you wrote like a pompous ass. All you had to say it was Sgt Peppers but no you like to go for the throat so I followed suit. I have only 3 Beatles records and none of them we've mentioned so far, Take care and get off my case.

  • @11xzxzxz

There are some things in your comment that I can almost understand..the rest is just pure mindless drivel.

Why have a go at me because you don't know how to read the comments properly?

  • @seventiesclassic "Now pay attention ... read carefully" Your horrid inhabitable "un-humbleness" of puerile pompous purposelessness that U sprays out all of your 5 orifices like a skanky skunk stench wherever you wantonly wanders in and out of insanity and friendlessness.

Got it now Mr Pepper face?
