http://www.ntv.co.ke Will lake Turkana , the lifeline for thousands of Turkana people survive? The future of the crucial water mass hangs in the balance as the Ethiopian Government pushes ahead with its plans to construct a series of dams upstream, on the Omo River, the main water supplier to the lake. The Gibe III hydroelectric dam is already in its second year of construction and NTV Rose Wangui reports, Lake Turkana could start drying up sooner than latter.

  • Did you know that the first humans originated from Lake Turkana? This lake should be a spiritual place, and no not as in religious.

  • feeeeeeeeeeesh

  • peleka ujinga mbali.kwani ulitokea na shimo ya rasa? watu ka nyinyi ndio humwagiwa petroli kwa maskio...nyani wewe.

  • u are so shallow minded that its a waist off time trying explain staff to u. Kenyan goverment should respect the will of its people . If they can let Ethiopia continue with the project regardless of what it will do to the environment and the people.Trust me they can do it to u too. Untill u learn to aknowledge ur power individually, politicians will continue to take advantage of u and all kenyans for that matter.its people like u how make politicians think they are mighty.

  • @edenskid Hey...the dam has been suspended for lack of donor funds. It is an Ethiopian project what could Kibaki do? bomb it?

  • before u left kenya u werent even interested in lake turkana but now since uve left its now when u get interested in the lake.u are the real dumbass.

  • River Omo - it is being dammed with Kenya's permission... in Ethiopia... ask kibaki..

  • @Vanessak1x. so you think being in the US is all that. Wait till you hit retirement age.... and see whether retiring in the US is easy. this Kenya you are dissing here is where you'll be headed.Unless you are very sure you'll be a millionaire by retirement age......don't talk like that. When you are young you think you'll live forever...........You'll be 65 before you know it.

  • Sad thing is the people here have no other option...it is the lake or they're done!

  • kenyan goverment never give a shit about it's people, they only care about which cars they wanna drive this year...instead of supporting local farmers with irrigations so people can feed themselves...really sad...i was born and raised in nairobi...but even tho i dnt live in kenya, my heart always go out to my fellow kenyans who have been abandoned by their goverment...i hope one day i can help dig acouple bow holes for water in the arid areas..peace
