This video takes you through more than 3 years of Greenpeace campaigning against the incandescent bulb. After almost 900 days of campaigning and 250000 petitions the Bachat Lamp Yojana has been announced on 25th feb 2009. This scheme will allow states to sell CFL's at the cost of a normal bulb.

I don't like CFL because of poison mecury. USE LED bulbs or low watt Incandescents. Use Solar for Incandescent than use coal. I love incandescent bulb because of no mecury.

i agree with ORIGOANGELOHROL.. CFLs and even LED light bulbs are shit but i dont think that the world is gona use just CFL or LED lights. They're currently in the process of making energy effcient incandescents which give off the same exact color we're used to seeing from a traditional bulb. Most ppl will still use old fashion light bulbs even after 2014. CFLs and LED lights are not good for everything. Guess its time to stock up on incandescents and i will keep buying til they're sold out.

The only viable long term solution to resource depletion and excessive pollution is population control through would wide birth rate control.
