This is a bit late, but you can zoom in super 16, but it will look wonky while it is zooming as the lens is not center.

where's the FW port? lol

yes it is possible to zoom. The K3 is a SLR, not with a split prisma (where 50% of the light goes to the film and 50% to the viewfinder), but with rotating mirrors. This equals in a flickering image on the viewfinder while filming (not on the film). The newer K3s have a M42 mount (you could use cheap (but good) SLR lenses there) - but some have a bajonett-mount. I've heard there are some K3 with a bad quality, but some with very good one. It's a noisy cam. but cheap+ good

It's a very noisy camera, a friend of mine used on for a short film, he had to redo all the audio in post, but a great camera for the price, not to sure about the zoom in super 16 though.

Is this a noisy camera?
Can you zoom while in super 16mm?

I love how simple these cameras are, I just wish they would make them all motorized.

True.

Of course, but if the film gate itself gets scratched through rough handling, then the rest of the film you run through the camera could be damaged.
Two questions, if there's no loop formers, how does one avoid the camera from unravelling inside the magazine section? Question number to is how does the pressure plate work with the film? Just holds the film in place or is there anything else?

@3baxcb The loop formers don't do anything once the lid is installed--they retract out of the way. The pressure plate holds the film against the gate.
