So the ribs dont allow for slow release or collapse, they just let go at one point and you get a massive structural failure, boom, its crushed like a can. Its either that or a homeless guy nearby crushed it with his out of control telekinetic powers. Thats possible too....

Your description is not right. I used my internet-brainwave-telekinesis­-powers to make all or the air molecules push on the outside of the tank, causing it to implode. That is a truly scientific description.

@CanadaMan81 If this tank was in service id imagine they would have some kind of pressure sensor inside so they would be able to tell if it were going to implode but i think it just built up to the point where it could bend it and once it bent there was no strutural support so it just got completely crushed

It's from a safety video about the importance of properly venting tanker cars during product transfer or following cleaning to prevent damage to the tank.

In this case they filled the tanker with steam and then shot cold quench water into it for a rather more dramatic effect.
