@tavvenbizzy07 Thatcher was not the worst PM of Uk and far less incompetent, she was indeed the best among UK's PM, she did a lot for that country but the problem was the political ethics and their crappy ways of dealings and more that delusional thoughts of being "all powerful" and disposing of the country and the civilians which serve best their ordeals.

It's so incredibly disgusting how deliberatly and calculating British Government did act. This is as a reckless and heinous foul play to international community as Saddam's war was.
It's even worse because they were civilians of their own and of befriended countries.
And if a Government treatens its own civilians like that there's no wonder that its elite soldiers die from crappy food rations.
SAS obviously don't have any transport facilities nor adequate equipment. It's just ridiculous...crappy

so u sacrifice the lives of innocent civilians, and at the end of it all for wat?
-
This woman ( Thatcher ) was possibly the worst PM of our country , nevermind her incompetence , but lying blatantly is unforgivable !!
-
If she knew about the invasion one hour before they arrived, why the fuck what you not divert. That alone caused the hostage situation?

Saddam was a murderer like Hitler before him. He killed over 1,000 Kuwaiti civilians, killing thousands of his own people and Iranians in the 80s, even gave his troops an order to burn down Kuwaiti oil fields which is a major disaster in the Persian Gulf, and slaugerting 100,000 Kurds and Shiite rebels during the aftermath of the first Gulf War. The oil fields in Kuwait still hasn't recovered to this day after Iraqi troops burned their oil fields.

@Nneka1963 How do you think your life would be if the government did not protect its access to oil?

I may have missed it; but some of the crew members went into hiding, right? How did that go? The end of the documentary states that they all survived. But the film did not seem to have elaborated on that. Or did I miss it?

Thanks to bjones4 for posting this (good image and sound quality too...)
I don't think the British government knew that the passengers would find themselves in that position when the plane landed, and civlilian flights are routinely used to place military personnel in conflict zones. Don't like it? Change planets. Whatever, Saddam's actions in using women and children as emotional blackmail and men as human shields means I drank a bottle of Bordeaux the day he was hanged.

I was on the plane. I lost my home as a consequence. Total compensation from BA was 200 pounds. American passengers may have got compensation - not so the British.
This was very interesting. I wonder what else the government has been hiding. Thanks for posting.

BA behaved worse than the Iraqis. If I hadn't experienced it I'd never have imagined a company could be so...evil.
A thoroughly unpleasant and sinsister organisation.
