@das81 not rlly VDV is what is within the Eastern block as a "Special purpose unit" IT is a Aerial insertion unit. To an extent special forces, with some training limitations that come from the number of admissions.

@FalconerLOL Many a wrongs there comparing USMC to the VDV.. the VDV's str is far greater then their numbers, and the training is verry brutal...if you wanna compare something compare AIrborne or Delta force to VDV, then u might have a inteligent comparrison this way, you just shown your ignorance

I think why there is confusion over the translation is because its literal. Hence the phrase "lost in translation." the part that says parachutes white flower is translated correctly. However due to the many differences between russian and english, I think americans would say parachutists descending under a white canopy.
