@IDIDieselJohn thought some older fords had something to read oil psi before it would start. dont say im stupid cause it sounds like somethin ford would do
-
gauges bouncing around because the engine is trying to fire
-
the trusty 7.3 never fails
-
why is it that all thermostats on 87-91 era Fords go up to hot as you crank?
-
Maximum cranking time is 20 seconds, 2 minute cool down time.
-
@uwersayin ... they have super heavy duty starters for exactly this reason. If you've ever owned any diesel (of the past), you just keep cranking till the oil burner rattles to life.
-
@cranemaninamerica Partially true the old diesels were like that. they were all mechanical and needed to be worked. After ten min it wont do anything after an hour or more it may load up and start to wetstack"Load up on fuel" and when you go to take off it will smoke and cackle like a bitch but nbd. I used to let my 90 idle for 6+ hrs in the cold and it was just a smokey noisy ride for a couple seconds
-
dont crank it for such a long time. you will damage the starter motor
I'm not sure if you're supposed to crank over 6 seconds continuously, but I don't have your owners manual

Oil psi has nothing to do with good or crapy start ups. And oil reads perfect. It had a couple bad glow plugs in this vid.
