And also, funny but true, the beginning of this song sounds like the open credits for Sesame Street.

Cyndy Lauper didn't write a word of 'Code of Silence'.

She talked Billy out of a writer's block. He wrote the song based on their conversation and gave her a songwriting credit as a thank you gift.

Code of Silence was the last song written for The Bridge & one Billy was struggling lyrically with, so I'm not sure how anyone can talk someone through writer's block other than having an input themselves by suggesting changes or adding new lyrics.

Billy is very protective of his work after paying off a writer who claimed he plagarised his song & he vowed never to do it again, he's also been a victim when younger of having the odd unimportant word changed by producers to gain a co-write.

Then there was his fall out with Liberty Devitto after a 30 odd year friendship that was rumoured to involve Liberty wanting songwriter royalties for his input on Billy's songs, which Billy didn't accept was valid and so I don't think he'd give Cyndi a co-write credit lightly unless he felt she did enough to warrant it.
