Best viewed in full screen. Possibly one of my favourite videos, one of the Met IRV's on an Emergency Call getting extremely stuck behind a bus while responding to a shout. The bus just refused to move despite all of the tones and horns being given. I have a lot of videos to upload over the next few days and my best ones are going up first. This video was taken with a Panasonic TZ7.

  • what type of engine do these police vauxhalls have?

  • @Robex The Met use 1.7 Diesel.

  • You think the bus was bad? You haven't seen NYPD vids yet :D

  • @TheDoubledoppler Oh I have, but thats what they get for not using the siren properly

  • One of my favs of your vids, any idea of what siren it is?

  • @PoliceAmbulanceFire Thanks mate its a Whelen siren.

  • 3 things:

    1) The driver of the police car got himself "boxed in" by not looking far enough ahead.

    2) He was so close to the bus there was no chance the bus driver could have seen him in his mirrors.

    3) The bus physically had nowhere to go. So the police car could have made 10 times the noise and it wouldn't have made a jot of difference!!

I'm guessing - as it's a police Astra - the driver has only had the basic level of training. "Basic" sums up the standard of his driving too!!

  • In that situation, the sirens should have been turned off. If you watch any of the Met police training videos on Pootube, they all turn the siren off when no progress can reasonably be made.

  • Would be a 159 :P Arriva

  • @grumpyrozzer yes i have lad. But the fact that most drivers dont anticipate or pre plan as they are travelling is alarming. Considering london is a busy place with a lot of emergency vehicles flying past every minute of every day, the bus driver should have been prepared for what happened in front of them. The officer in the car didnt help at all really. Considering the gap he could have hopped the pavement and been extremly cheeky lol.

  • that will be me soon

  • Haha, love it !! :D

  • Another stupid bus driver going more stupid for London.

  • one word. fail.

  • stupid bus drivers
