What a beautiful beach day! You'd never even know Hurrican Irene was working her way up the coast. Here's a shot of the beach and a storm update for today at 11:15am. Right now Hurricane Irene is a Cat3 hurricane and is off the coast of the Bahamas. It is expected to make landfall between Wilmington and Hatteras on Saturday. Hyde County has ordered a mandatory evacuation for Ocracoke, however, there has been no evacuation ordered for Dare County. Hatteras Island Rescue Squad has reported a high threat of rip currents and suggests swimmers stay out of the water. Be sure to check back for updates!
