  • Passport, Return to Forever, Weather Report, Eddie Henderson, Johnny Hammond, Sun Ra, Billy Cobham, George Duke, Charles Earland, Patrice Rushen, Gary Bartz, Bennie Maupin, Jaco, Dexter Wansel, Herbie Hancock and the Headhunters were just a few of the innovators of this genre that's sampled and looped by Hip Hop and Rap. This stuff still shocks to this day. Great post.

  • It's just my personal opinion but this incarnation achieved the most exciting recordings of Passport's career. The mix was slightly tilted to the rock over the jazz but there were also some Tangerine Dream elements, which inspired the New Age movement. Great enthusiasm & energy, complex rhythms, solid melodies & rich harmonies. This crew captured the magic in a way that the others didn't. For me.

  • how have i not have heard of this audio panting type of music before ?

  • CURT CRESS killed this!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Curt Cress - a monster drummer

  • Un groupe de Jazz, Jazz Fusion, Rock Jazz, Jazz Rock, Prog Jazz Fusion, etc, etc .... appelez le comme vous voulez, moi j'ai toujours aimé l'enfant de Klaus Doldinger.

  • vanguard music always.

  • love it!

  • Hello drumplayers all around the world: Listen to CURT CRESS here !!!

  • Best Passport line up ever! I still have all their albums from 1971 to 1977. I´m glad to see the "classic Passport Quartet" live in Worpswede/Germany this month (May 2011) it is also my first chance to see them again after the short time period of 34 years (lol)
