  • I most definitely disagree with the winner of the 1950 award. Hands down,it should have been Bette Davis for "All about Eve".

Thank you for posting this dobazajr! :)

  • @4MaryAnna or Gloria Swanson in Sunset Boulevard. I believe there was a splitting of votes 'tween Swanson and Davis that Holliday manage to be the beneficiary.

  • MUY BUENO!

  • @71matas thanks...

  • well , the most beautiful oscar goes to....vivien leigh! :)

  • @dobazajr Actually, I've heard there was a split vote between Anne Baxter and Bette Davis for All About Eve. Instead of accepting an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress, Anne Baxter insisted on being nominated for Best Actress. Usually when there are two best actor noms for the same movie, it splits the vote and someone else usually wins. Most likely Davis would've won had this not been the case. Miss Baxter may have been the bad guy in this situation, just like the bad guy in AAE.

  • @4MaryAnna Totally agree. Bette not only deserved the Oscar, but IMHO, gave the greatest performance by an actress EVER, when she played Margo Channing in All About Eve.

  • @dobazajr

1950 it shoul have gone to gloria swanson

and 1954 it should have gone to judy garland for A Star is Born

  • Most of the actresses from the 70s onward aren't worth watching. but the ladies from the early days were awesome.

  • I'd also like to add that I miss Elizabeth Taylor already! I just heard about her death a little over a week ago. May she rest in peace.

  • @dobazajr Thanks so much for telling me this,It's something I hadn't known before, and I enjoy informative information!

Thanks again for taking out the time and effort to post this these wonderful clips for all of us fans!
