  • @jbargermusic whats your setup

  • @christian018018 Selmer Serie II, Selmer S80 B* or Larry Teal mouthpiece, Gold Bay ligature (covered), and Vandoren Traditional Reeds (size 3)

  • bozza is a great composer. this is a staple piece, but in my opinion it is almost overplayed just like the heiden sonata and other "cliche" sax pieces. there is so much more repertoire out there.

you play the shit out of the caprice section, i listened to that when i was learning this for my audition. so so so good man. keep it killin.

  • @jazzsax90210 Thank you - I hope that your audition went well!

  • you performed this piece when you were a freshman?

    that's unbelievable!

  • This was in the spring semester of my freshmen year at WTAMU - I was 19 at the time. Thank you for your comment!

  • wow and bravo and on the caprice movement! incredible playing!

  • Good job man. Sounds really nice.

  • what do you think about the selmer s90 or the vandirem optimum mouthpiece im trying to decide what would be better to transition to from a selmer c*

  • Alto is pitched a perfect fifth above tenor. You can tell just by the key signatures in scales. In concertt b flat, tenors start on c while altos start on g.on

  • @frankdiva1130 Im playing this piece as a Junior in High School

  • Yes, because playing so fast you lose all sense of tempo maximizes musicality and is therefore better because it is fast. Also, Bozza placed the rests there for phrasing purposes. Not so you can show off by running them all over.

  • @TallGoofyLover Yes, Alto is pitched a major 4th above a tenor (Bb to Eb)

  • @11academy That's what it's marked at in the sheet music, but that's actually a pretty standard tempo to do it at. It's hard as balls.
