Some of the strongest condemnations of aa come from Christians. Many evangelicals consider Bill W's "spiritual enlightenment" to have been a counterfeit courtesy of Lucifer.

Christ is not a religion, he is spirit.You are not going to understand that unless He takes your self-centered heart away and puts in a spiritual heart, because only He can do this. What is flesh is flesh and will pass away.What is spirit is spirit and will live forever.God is spirit, not what man makes him to be.God is in charge of everything whether you like or believe it dosen't change that fact.Who amongst you can change one morsel of your statute? Its true in the Big book when it says, "that I live in a world of ignorance and misunderstanding...". AA is nothing more than a basic set of directions which will solve all my problems. What you are listening to here is people that dont walk the walk, they sit around and talk. And what do you expect from sick people who don't take medication...they get worse never better. If I don't take the spiritual medication suggested...I will stay spiritually ill. That is all you are seeing.

@TrentusMaximus78 Actually I think Mike is agnostic, not Christian. Your definition of religion is also incorrect. The Big Book mentions god 134 times in 1st 64 pages, then elaborates on turning ones will over to god. Members collectively recite AA doctrine blah, blah in meetings / rituals. What I've just described is AmericanStandard text book defintion of "religion" . Mike is telling Christians to pick one but it is biblically unholy to practice 2 religions. Calm down.
