  • What was Bo's reason to ditch the passing game in 1971?

  • The running attack was insane in 71. They ran over all their opponents with ease. I guess Bo didn't think he needed a passing game.

Alas, if you can't pass the ball, you're going to have trouble defending it too. If we had even a mediocre passing game in the 70's, we wouldn't have lost so many close Rose Bowl games.

It wasn't until the late 70's that Bo finally got the passing game going.

  • hey WH when are you going to show the video of michigan ohio state '71

  • I tried to find that game but several people have told me that it wasn't televised.

  • R.I.P. Tom Slade

  • Amen to that. I remember a few weeks before he died, I saw an interview with him where he said how much better he was feeling. Such a tragic loss.

  • I love a Michigan Blowout

  • @bluejayforever2006: I don't agree about 1980. Pitt should have won it that year. They were the best in 1976, too.

  • I was at that game as a 10 y.o. that's when I became a Michigan fan. Tom was my

Sisters Dentist also. I agree R.I.P. Tom Slade.

  • This is great. Thanks Wolverine Historian!

  • I would say its a safe bet that 63-7 is a blow out

  • Someone in Hollywood would be wise to make a movie about Billy Taylor. The guy was my favorite player in this era. His story is amazing. The things the guy went through after his Wolverine days are insane. The way he came back up from the depths is even more amazing. I believe there is a book out about him.

  • BO should have won 71-76-78-80-85-88 NATIONAL CHAMPS!

  • Man, if people are mad about how RRod is treating players, look at Bo. These guys are tough kids.

  • How about that quarterback/pulling guard at 7:57!
