The story of physicist Richard Feynman's fascination with the remote Asian country of Tannu Tuva, and his efforts to go there with his great friend and drumming partner Ralph Leighton (co-author of the classic 'Surely You're Joking, Mr Feynman'). Feynman was dying of cancer when this was filmed, and died a few weeks after the filming. This is Part One of five. Originally shown in the BBC TV science series 'Horizon' in 1988, and also shown in the USA on PBS 'Nova' under the title 'Last Journey of a Genius'

  • Wonderful man!

  • thank you

  • As others have said, thank you for uploading this.

I strive every day, to be like Richard Feynman, I don't think there has ever been a finer example of a human being.

  • @Rotorzilla sure, please welcome to the land of the Tuvan nation! you can get Kyzyl by plane from Moscow with a layover in Novosibirsk, and then to Kyzyl. If you fly from Moscow to Abakan, you have to travel by bus or car to Kyzyl.

  • @margelov1 This makes me want to travel there too. Is it easy to go now?

  • Real genius always displays the wonderment of a child, always experiencing life for the first time. Feynman was an eternal child exploring the world and finding joyful fascination to the very end... so much to be learned from this brilliant, euphoric, and "anti-philosophic" friend of all humanity. Feynman was totally immersed in the mysteries of life and yet at the same time, a real character and

hellraiser to the very end! Here's to KYZYL!!
