Klavierstücke Impromptus, the lesser known impromptu series of Schubert yet just as beautiful as his others. Composed a few months before the composer's death.

Alfred Brendel, what an amazing interpretation.

  • Not everyone likes Brendel's playing, but I'm not one of them. I think he's a great pianist, both intellectual and emotional. I love this piece and the way he plays it. Thanks for posting!

  • @meltzerboy

I agree with you, and you're welcome! :)

  • ive been trying to figure how to best play some of the passages in this piece and after hearing brendel i think he interprets the song perfectly/ how it should be interpreted.

  • Glad you found it helpful. I can only play parts of this piece without difficulty myself; hopefully I'll master it myself too one day.

  • Brendel, mon maieuticien en matière de Schubertiades !

  • it felt as if some rests were cut a bit short. or maybe i am just playing them too long...

  • I bought the recording! Brendel is my favourite Schubert interpreter.

  • beauty, but another part is missing, the episode a flat major , as well as on the Kempff's recording on Youtube of the same impromptu

    Firkusny is the only complete

  • beauty, but another part is missing, the episode a flat major

  • Thank you *so much* for uploading this wonderful piano piece, possibly my favourite ever. It can be difficult to find online and now it won't be anymore! ;o)

  • When I close my eyes I see a glimps of 7 or 8 other dimensions..

  • @meltzerboy I beautiful, flavourful performance. I sometimes find Brendel's playing percussive, but not here, at his best. He's recorded some wonderful Schubert. Thanks!
