MANHATTA (1920), by Charles Sheeler and Paul Strand, was the first American avant-garde film, and there are places to watch it online. In 2008 it was digitally restored and I was asked to orchestrate the synthesized score I created for an earlier DVD release as part of the Unseen Cinema project. This is a clip of the recording session in Kosice, Slovakia, with Peter Breiner conducting the Slovak State Filharmonic Orchestra. Donnie, When I saw the short "Manhatta" recently on TCM, I'm not sure which I liked more, the film or the music. Since then, I am unable to find the film on YouTube w/the same music as on TCM (probably due to copyright) Sooo, what is the name of this composition? And where can I hear it, in its entirety? It is absolutely lovely. Thanks.
