Jana Losey explores a local historical hot spot in her native hometown of Lawrenceville, PA, Tioga County. Old Fashioned Francis Murphy has run this place for 48 years, and hasn't changed a thing............
He is 85 years old now, and the last curator of this great roller skating rink. He only stopped skating himself 4 years ago.

Thank you so much for sharing this. My wife and I are both from Tioga and now we're living in Utah. This has brought back so many memories from when we were kids. Francis is simply awesome!

I used to volunteer there back in the 90s along with 3 other schoolmates. Francis has done a lot to keep things going over the years. The Rollarena houses so many unique and antique items; sort of a stroll through history. Even the music that is used (new and old) sparks some memory from the past.

omg! lol i haven't been to the tioga roller rink in forever! It's sad that it may not open for another season :(

i work there now. Its sad Francis has even told me that this may be the last year he will be open because kids dont appreciate what he tries to give to them. He has even budged on the whole music thing. We now play "Modern Music" (Its like 90's music) and still the kids dont like it.

Video is great! I grew up in Wellsboro and never went to Roller Skate in Tioga. What a historical treasure!

hi my name is ed overhiser i used to work at the rink 27 years ago i remember fran very well he is a good man
