No portable shield has worked in tests with this. This is a problematic system as people will approve of it as "humane" but since it leaves no evidence will be used for abuse and torture. It is being downsized to man portable units and these are being tested as we speak. They will be deployed to control dissent and civil disturbances as the economy begins to collapse. Get nuked at the food riot, LOL.

@src438 I talked to a scientist just today who confirms that this device will basically turn your eyes into hard-boiled eggs. It fries the wet cornea- the surface of your eyeball. Look up "Active Denial" on Wikipedia.
