Considering Orr the best ever is no insult to Gretzky or Lemieux. Comparing players from different eras is difficult. The Plus-Minus numbers DO NOT LIE. They are the great equalizer when it comes to comparisons. Since none of these 3 in question played for a bad club---the plus-minus numbers are even more accurate. Orr's plus-minus numbers simply obliterate all other players, period. Also---defense is a much harder position. No such thing as floating or coasting as a defenseman.

Great footage, very high quality. The NHL put all of the expansion teams in one division in the last 60's, so the Blues did not really belong in the Stanley Cup Finals.Bobby Orr proved that point .

@cw1310 Nope...go watch Nick's greatest video. This video defines reality. No end to ends, no seeing eye passes, no highlight dekes, one excellent defensive play. Slap shots yes and slap passes yes...every second of Nick's career is on video (tons of Orr's best never made it on film), and this is his greatest...shesh. Light years behind Orr. Go watch the video...then if you come back and argue, I will know who I'm dealing with. Nick is an All Star...Orr is in his own stratosphere!!

As great as Bobby Orr was, Nick lidstrom is better. A lot better in fact. they might as well call the Norris Trophy the Lidstrom Tropht.

anyone see the video of "the great one" getting caught in the train tracks and the guy that hit him never playing in another game in the nhl? enough said! gretzky was protected and the league let adam graves slice away then gave him a good guy award and the penguins still won the cup
