neblinaalba: Thanks for the history. It looks like it was later converted into a spa, though. There's definite evidence of past flooding here - like you said.

It's not a mineral spring spa .... it was a dry ice manufacturing pant. The building with the fireplace in it was the owners house. The property had to be abandoned when the sea rolled in and submerged it. It's only been in the last decade or so that you could get near the buildings again without sinking into salt water and mud.
I believe you may find this video of great interest. Look up "Making Dry Ice 1935". It shows this plant in operation! I found it by accident and remembered this video.

I'm guessing it was built sometime in the 1950's.
