  • This doesn't look black belt at all. They are slow and have no strenght

  • "Would you like fries with that kiai?" - Looks like a proper McDOJO.

This is farcical for dan grade kihon. To people watching this thinking that it is shotokan... this is NOT shotokan. This is the blind being led by the blind under the illusion of pseudo-dan grade standards. Shotokan is a remarkably plastic, crisp and dynamic form of karate. Ditch this bullshit and check out some proper shotokan, i.e. JKA/KUGB stuff. A great man known as Enoeda Sensei would be a great place to start. :)

  • To all the trolls, I would like to point out that while you're on your ass trolling, these people are actually doing something, and, quite likely, at much higher standard than you ever have.

Anyone truly appreciative of the karate does not waste his time railing against the faults of others, but is instead found in the dojo working to better himself. Something that seems much more applicable to the people in the video than in this comment section.

  • give me a bucket!!!

  • @holleykyoshi I agree with your philosophy of Respect. I live by this philosophy. But I also think that black belt shouldn't be handed like that. You don't have to be a mighty warrior to train karate, but to be granted the graduation of black belt, it is required an understanding of karate's spirit, kime, and also techniques. To me, this McDojos are disrespectful to the ancestrals of Karate.

    Oss!

  • I do not know these people or dojo but I can only say that every dojo & sensei have their own standards and because theirs may not fit into our mode or have the same standards it is not good character to blast others as it shows our own character flaw. This two does not follow the great precepts of Funakoshi's Dojo Kun. l have only 47 yrs of Shotokan study & practice so I am not very good yet. My simple motto taken from living in Japan.."Shut up & train". "Respect others." Humbly yours.
