The goalies were not ejected. The Red Wings went on to win this game, giving Mike Vernon his 300th career win. After the final buzzer the puck was in the Colorado end, and Patrick Roy slid the puck down to Vernon, waving his arm to salute the milestone. These guys had been rivals since their rookie runs to the Cup final in 1986 (Roy- Montreal, Vernon- Calgary), and even though they fought on this night, the mutual respect was always there. Time to put Vernon in the HHOF where he belongs.
