Seniors Urge Congress to Reform Medicare Advantage

President and CEO of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, Barbara B. Kennelly, details the successful delivery of 48,000 petitions signed by seniors throughout the nation asking the Senate to eliminate or reduce billions in insurance industry subsidies to private Medicare providers and to strengthen the traditional Medicare program. Congress is considering legislation that could include cuts to billions of dollars in subsidies to private insurers. These overpayments will cost the federal government $149 billion dollars over the next decade and cut two years from Medicare's solvency. Seniors want Congress to reduce those subsidies to improve and strengthen Medicare for future generations. Contrary to what the insurance industry claims, cutting industry subsidies is not the same as cutting Medicare.

Tell the government to stop fraud with original Medicare and then they can save enough money to do the right thing for seniors.

Yes I agree many agents do not do the right thing for seniors, but right now laws are getting stricter and most agents will have to do the right thing.

With original Medicare doctors billing offices can just double bill or bill for benefits not received by patients. Many times casing patients not to get benefits when they need it.

Yeast it cost the government 19% more to pay private companies to manage it but then they save billions of dolls per year in frauds.

Number two reasons why Medicare advantage is better than original Medicare.

IT SAVES THE GOVERNMENT MONEY.

Yes you read that right. The entire BS about it costing the government more is not true.

It saves the government money because doctors can not cheat Private companies as easily as they do private companies.

This is what people are missing when it comes to Medicare Advantage>

Lets say a senior in Queens NY goes for Heart Surgery with Original Medicare.

He will pay 20% of Up to 100,000 or more

20% of $100,000 = $20,000. How is the senior who only gets about 1300 per month pay that bill?

If he goes and have the same surgery with a Medicare advantage he may pay NOTHING ($0) OR MAYBE A FEW HUNDRED DOLLARS.

WOW. YOU WANT TO TAKE THAT AWAY?

AND YOU CAN SLEEP AT NIGHT?

Soooo you want to cut Medicare advantage plans, that gives seniors more benefits? How about telling the government to quit spending the money that comes in to fund Medicare... that would be a good place to start.
