This last video wasn't really necessary but I edited it because I like the cue so much.
What was left out of the final cut is the very beginning of it: instead of the new romantic variation for the film, we get a new clumsy editing of the romantic theme from the very same cue, only speeded up and looped twice. Nothing terrible but another loss of subtlety that starts to become frustrating after 2 hours of film.
The other reason I made this last one is to be able to hear the wonderful final statement of the Spider-Man theme without those useless choppers sound effects.

I could work on other videos as there are still several scenes where the music was modified or replaced but it wouldn't have a real interest. What film composers write never make it entirely into the final product anyway.

I hope you enjoyed these videos and particularly, Danny Elfman's wonderful music...

PS : I'd just like to add that youtube always desynched the music for something like 20 frames so these videos are not exactly as intended...

  • where did you det the music?

  • This cue is on the Spider-Man 2 score cd that you can purchase anywhere. Try Amazon.

The track is called "At long last, love".

  • ooo this is one of my fav. scenes in spidey 2, the music is gorgous! But I was wondering if there was an original score for the part where doc ock dies and peter and mj are hanging from the web? I love that scene the most!

  • The part you are referring to uses Danny Elfman's original music...

  • I was quite disappointed when I heard Danny Elfman wasn't coming back to score Spider-Man 3, and had always wondered why. After a full two years, I am grateful to have found out just what happened.

While I don't think Raimi's decision-making was entirely whimsical, I do agree that it hurt the final product. It would actually be great if Sony released a new cut of the DVD with the original cues.

  • I love this ending!

  • @apeltala ALL full on extended cuts of all films with never before seen and heard scenes and music cues!!!!!!!!! like an ultimate edition cut..

  • Love the music cue's , although the scene made me throw up a little in my mouth back in '04'.

  • Better than Spiderman 1's ending

  • You must be crazy! Its fake!!

  • This is not a missing cue I don't think.

  • this song was a sleeper. It sent chills down my spine when i heard it in the final scene in part 1. The bitter sweet ending acompanied by a great theme.

  • I agree, ive been wondering too.

But i don't think Danny Elfman would even be able to write anything good for SM3, it really seemed thrown together at the last minute, which as far as i heard about when filming started, it was.
