On a warm summers day in 2009 the Brooklands Merryweather went to see how the restoration of the old (1885) Brooklands Fire Station was coming along.

  • Hi Andy have been about 3 times in the past, Brooklands is such a marvelous place with its very own unique atmosphere so always a great day out, must be good to be part of such a great Museum.

  • I agree about the unique atmosphere.

However there are times (like when you are recovering an aircraft in the rain, when you wonder "What am I doing here" :-)

  • Know what you mean i used to be a voulenteer at Newark Air Museaum in the early 90's, working on the aircraft in all weathers, the only aircraft movement i took part in was taking the Harvard and Oxford back to the then Royal Airforce Museums restoration facility at Cardington in 1994. Sadly now most of the base at Cardington has been flatend to make way for a housing estate apart from the Airship sheds,

  • OMG! I shudder to think what size the spider was that made that web!

Great Video as always of course.
