@Havanaroyal87 The Flak 38 20mm's Origin is from Nazi Germany not America.

America ohhh my god, fucking Freaks :D

@marmaladekamikaze Hehehe - ah Genius Book of Records - largest armed forces by sheer numbers - The People's Army of China and reserve units hehe hmm... I also read in a Vietnam War Atlast that described the fact 'stocks of rifles - practically Chinese Type 56 (copies of the AK-47) by 1968 were exported to the PAVN and NFL forces...' sounds scary slightly...

@marmaladekamikaze '34/85' had a bigger gun than the Panther or the Shermans though - so its the best in HE work but thats pretty much it if you don't count a 90mm turret, improved turret design and 5 man crew - pretty much its optics, tactics, radio was still poor by any WWII standards. As for the 5.56mm? Heck its a weak round but still painful if you get shot nonetheless - unlike the AK-47 which doesn't fragment on impact... hmm Americans had issues with the M1 Carbine and Thompson in WWII

exactly, the philosophy can even be extented to small arms, the 5.56x45mm isn't the most potent anti-personnel cartridge in the world, but its versatile, adequate in wounding and soldiers can carry a lot of them, so it is nearly perfect as a battle rifle cartridge. Shermans and T-34s weren't the best tanks of WWII, the panther tank probably was, but like you said they made up for it with sheer numbers deployed/quantity. So in sum, watch out for China!

@marmaladekamikaze And what you mentioned quantity over quality - reminds me of the fact in WWII the Allies for the matter tended to sacrifice quality with quantity - Shermans and '34/85's or masses of heavy bombers as an example though they also did improve on thier tanks eventually.
-
@marmaladekamikaze Yes I also read that in the article and in WWII battles describing the struggle in the air over Germany; while the Germans in terms of quality (e.g. damage of thier cannons compared to BMG rounds) the Germans also found it disconcerting the fact that concentrated fire of Browning M2's plus longer range than thier 20mm cannons - together with the fact you can't carry as much ammunition in a heavier cannon and slower ROF/mv the M2 had its pros - other than damage :)
-
The BMG had a higher effective range than the Hispano, and better range than most axis 20mm, A lot can be said for quantity over quality.

yes its very likely he fired inert rounds and the FX crew rigged the car. but the wind wasn't blowing in his direction when the car initially lit up, and afterwards from the black smoke, one can rule out black powder burning, see Black powder always leaves a cloud of White smoke on ignition - the white particles are mostly K2CO3. So if he did inhale some of that black smoke he should have said 'nuthin like the smell of new car burnin'' p.s cool name bonnie!
At 0.24 you can see the precession wobble of the projectile as it flies, pretty cool to see, all bullets do that. Furthermore these don't use Black Powder but use triple base smokeless powder, the narrator is clearly a dumbass.

Reminded me of that scene in Saving Private Ryan. There you can see what this gun can do to a couple of soldiers!
