Herbie Hancock's hit , 'Chameleon' featured on Hancock's album 'Head Hunters' in 1973.

I've arranged this in a very laid back style that I think is appropriate given the instrumentation.

  • ok this is tight.

  • The Bb to the C in the Tenor part is incorrect in the first and second endings of the first repeat. It should go from Eb to F.

  • Sorry man... Had to "dislike." Too inaccurate.

  • I dunno, it was alright. It just seems like these guys lack some emotion, some intensity, the passion just wasn't there. hahahah

  • If anybody wishes to play the Rhodes solo from this track, I have a video on my channel with a complete transcription - I've done it absolutely note for note.

  • @IGotClutch in a bad way?

  • this is the squarest playthrough of chameleon ive EVER heard. our high schoool jazz band BLEW this away

  • When you add some swing and growling into the sax part, it's pretty damn sexy.

  • I played this song last year in jazz band. I don't remember how fast the tempo is but it should go faster than that, making it feel more energetic. Also, needs trumpet!

  • didnt herbie put the first snare syncopated a quaver before beat 2 where it would normally go, so as to fit in with the bass better. i dunno

  • @skychy Yes you can you just have to turn the notes into your key so it sound right. I do it all the time

  • In the sheet music there is a trumpet part that sounds a lot like the tenor part and move almost the same way. Im playing this for my 8th grade jazz band this year
