at 3:16 I thought you were being attacked by a Predator or something. I was gonna say "GET TO DA CHOPPAH!!", but then I realized, predator's camo doesn't work under water...

...Oh... Well, what if you're diving and you step on one in the...no, I'm stretching. Thanks for the info. I can sorta enjoy the beach now!
It's weird to watch the thing camouflage on the go. Someone posted this video in a forum and someone replied that it was "cloaking" and now all my nerdy brain can think of is, "No ship that small has a cloaking device!" Creepy. Guess you really have to watch your step when you go wading at the beach...

Don't worry about stepping on one, they're mid-water swimmers - only the flamboyant cuttle hangs out on the bottom and they're very rare. All are harmless.

I saw one of these in the Flordia Keys, they are absolutely amazing. It disappeared right before my eyes.

I don't believe there are any cuttlefish in the Atlantic or Caribbean - what you saw was probably a squid.

Apparently, from other videos i have watched on cuttlefish, the black and white shimmers is a technique it uses to hypnotize its prey (like crabs) to snatch them up with their tongue!

Interesting, although I doubt it thought that I was prey, so I think it must be a defensive "Warning! I'm big and strange, don't eat me!" message, too.
