  • Are there any glitches in the games? I were told there were tons of glitches.

  • Not so much with the built in games but the sound in Sonic and Street Of Rage is really bad. Some ppl have reported problems with Sonic 2

  • The sound effect is terrible, I was thinking about to buy this system since i'll be back in China next month, but now I change my idea. Thanks for your review! Hopefully I'll grab an old genesis from a flea market instead.

  • Important note: If you open the unit, you'll see a third swich position for Japanese NTSC games too, you can carbe a little bit the case to allow the swich to be operated without being disasembled. (Sorry for my english, i'm spanish)

  • Nice review, very thorough.

  • And guess what? The Gen-X controllers are actually modified NES/Super NES controllers! Yeah, seriously, I compared the Gen-X controllers to my FC Twin(and Yobo Super NES) controllers and the pinouts are IDENTICAL! So I guess that means that, while on the Genesis side, you're stuck with the Gen-X's stock controllers, you can swap them out with original NES controllers when you play NES games using an NES>DB9 cable, with the the DB9 plug cut down to fit the Gen-X's controller ports.

  • LMAO @ the Streets Of Rage 2 music.

  • Yeah I've seen them... it can be hard to get them in the UK. Plus the Gen X can't handle normal Megadrive/Genesis controllers (from what I've heard)... Think I'll have to stick with normal PC emulation :)

  • If you want a good system to play both, there's the Gen-X and GN Twin, both of which also combine an NES(which I'm sure you don't care about). The GN Twin doesn't have as many sound issues as the Gen-X. But both units' main sound problem is its audio circuitry that causes scratching and volume problems(I'm currently trying to fix that), but nothing as bad as the AtGames MegaDrive. These clones also work with Virtua Racing, Master System(crippled) and the 32X(crippled as well, testing fixes)

  • Thanks for this video. Too bad this unit is worthless.

  • lol @ Green Hill Zone music's pitch.

  • That version of Green Hill Zone would sound cool on a pallete hack where it was emo and stuff :S
