My Litter Robot has developed a problem where, at the end of a cleaning cycle, it'll get stuck indefinitely and keep "knocking" or "clicking" before finally reversing rotational direction and completing the cycle.
The flexible lip of the liner (at the front opening) may be pushed into the globe interfering with the movement of the lever arm which is part of the waste port guard, or if this globe has the separate plastic lip extender, it might be installed incorrectly (overlapping the lever mentioned above) preventing movement of the lever/guard/peg. Brad from Litter-Robot
I have three of these. I understand the concern about the manufacturer. Most I have dealt with are not helpful. However these folks are! Or I would not have bought three and I will buy more as I have lots of cats. I suspect what may be going on with this machine, as I've had it happen too, is there is probally "poop" on the groves. A THROUGH cleaning is most likely needed.

I just bought the litter robot (just put it together today) and it came out of the box with this problem. Did you figure out how to resolve this?

That's why I'm scared to buy it-it's a machine and it can break, and I doubt you will get much help from the manufacturer.
